I totally forgot about season 3 of For all mankind starting today. I really enjoyed both season 1 and 2 of this show.

I’ve only really just started out with Apple TV+ and started to watch Foundation. I’m a big sci-fi fan and it looked interesting. I’m 4 episodes in and it’s hooked me. I can see this series running for multiple seasons already and has a lot of world building to do.
I love the design of the world, somewhere between the patina of Star Wars and Blade Runner. The acting is fantastic and the budget is sky high, it’s one of the best looking shows I’ve seen. Amazing filming locations and cool ship design along with it too.
I’m not spoiling anything here so far but I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how good this show is after seeing it being dumped on a bit.
The first episode is free so if you’re into epic sci-fi I definitely recommend giving it a go.

I’ve replaced an old first generation Apple TV 4K for a new model, for one reason – playing video games through a pair of HomePods but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with more than just that.
First off I can feel the more powerful A12 processor in daily use. The interface feels faster, the streams are quicker to load and for some reason the audio seems better.
The big winner though is the remote.
No longer am I actioning something when I pick it up, the buttons are spaced out and it’s a lot more comfortable to hold onto.
But the main thing, the reason I bought it works like a charm. Playing both the Xbox and PlayStation through the HomePods is the best experience I’ve had with my gaming. Playing Halo Infinite has especially been impressive with the bass kicks and music separation. Setting it up was pretty straightforward and amazingly it worked straight away once I had changed a setting on the TV.
I’m pleased with the upgrade here overall, it’s the only way we watch TV. We don’t watch terrestrial TV at all and our LG TV isn’t connected to the internet.

I’m not a TV critic so not going into detail here but on the shows I’m interested in wanted to share a few thoughts.
For me the standout funnily enough is Snoopy. I enjoyed Snoopy as a kid and watching it with my daughter reminded me how great it was. It’s in keeping with the original I used to watch and does a great job at explaining space exploration.
Ghost Writer seemed to be enjoyed by my daughter but I didn’t like it. There’s something about the lighting that makes it feel like a long advert.
Dickinson is definitely different and is worth a watch if you’re into something like unbreakable on Netflix. Not quite as funny but similar humour.
I’ve only just started For All Mankind and like what I see so far.
Not started See yet, wasn’t sold on the trailer but I’ll get to it.
Not done much else, I am having a few technical issues though. About 40% of the time I’m getting a ‘error playing content’ issue but I’m not writing it off yet, it’s only just launched.

I’m having a bit of a tech clear out and was faced with a second generation Apple TV that I didn’t have a remote for. I couldn’t get the Siri remote to work so was a bit stuck.
On looking at the back of the unit I realised that it had a mini USB port. I took it to my iMac, plugged in a usb cable and iTunes recognised it. It then gave me an option to factory reset.

Now fibre is impending I picked up a new Apple TV, this one is a 32GB 4K version.
I’ve got a 15MB (on a good day) so until I get my promised 70-80MB I’ll report back on how I get on.
