Day 2 with no social media. So far I’ve had more time to work on my blog and not picked up my phone so much. Think I might have to delete YouTube from my iPhone though. Finding myself using it more now I don’t have social apps.

Ok so I have cleared down my devices to have no social apps aside from Micro.blog (which isn’t a social network) and my blogging apps. Hopefully I’ll be creating more content now I’m taking a break from Twitter.
-
Since I started playing with Micro.blog today it became quickly evident that not all themes support it properly. They let you see your posts but if you embed an image for example it won’t let you see it in your WordPress blog.
After reading this it seemed to indicate that only WordPress default themes would properly support it. After testing it I settled on one called Twenty Seventeen that now allows me to see anything I post to Micro.blog appear on my WordPress one.
I’ll need to tweak it but for now I’m happy that my posts are visible.

Does anyone know of a good WordPress theme that plays well with Micro.blog? I don’t like that my posts aren’t clickable from the homepage of my blog. I think it’s because posts from here do not have a title.

My first shortcut, combining screenshots to make one image. https://ljpuk.blog/2018/10/13/a-shortcut-to-combine-screenshots-into-one-image/

Right so looks like I need to update my WordPress theme to display posts without titles. Thanks posts from micro work but aren’t clickable from the main feed of my posts on WordPress.

Testing cross posting, “hello world”
-
I’ve now enabled comments on my site to make sure I’ve covered off engagement on my posts if I’m not on Twitter for this 30 day challenge.

Day 1 of trying to remove myself from too much social media. I’ve decided to only post links from my Blog to Twitter but post my social media via Micro.blog directly to my site. Let’s see how 30 days of this goes.
