Should you share your photography on Unsplash?

If you’re following along then you’ll know that I did an experiment using Unsplash to share my photography. What I’ve found is that it’s made no difference to the engagement with my photography. Whilst it’s cool that some of my images are being used in projects or wallpapers I have seen no benefits anywhere else.

When people are browsing for wallpapers or stock images my impression is that they don’t care who created it, it’s being used for a purpose with little attention to who the photographer is.

Your profile links to your home site so mine links to my blog. Looking at my traffic I’ve had no referrals from Unsplash.

So don’t feel like you’re missing out if you’re not on Unsplash, it’ll most likely not result in any traffic to your portfolio.
