Don’t buy the G-Shock GBD-200 for it’s fitness tracking

I’ve been using the G-Shock GBD-200 this week and I wanted to reiterate that you shouldn’t buy this model if you’re after a smartwatch or fitness tracker. As with most Casio Bluetooth efforts it’s pretty disappointing. Flakey connectivity and no meaningful data. The step tracker is also pretty basic and the app terrible. The privacy policies aren’t clear (where is the data stored?) and it doesn’t get many updates. I couldn’t even see this model of Watch in the connect app setup screen.

Buy the GBD-200 for it’s display. As I said yesterday I’m returning mine as the screen is too dim (I think I have a dud). But the fonts are large, which is why I picked one up in the first place.

Do not buy this model if you are expecting anything more than being able to run a stop watch.
