iOS 15: how to set up smart lists in Reminders

iOS 15 didn’t bring a huge amount of changes to Reminders but we got enough to add a little bit more flexibility at least. The new addition of smart lists means that you can create a bespoke view that allows you to group tasks by a particular tag or date etc. It allows you to filter your tasks and bundle them into a list based on your own criteria.

To create a smart list

  • Tap ‘add list’ in the bottom right of the app
  • Tap ‘make into smart list’
  • You can then specify your criteria such as a particular tag or priority level

Personally I’ve always wrestled with tags vs projects so I only use them for priority levels. I tend not to tag I just put it in it’s relevant project.
