Well, my time with the M1 MacBook Pro is over and it’s on it’s way back to Apple for my refund. It was a quick machine, probably too quick for me but I ultimately returned it for a couple of reasons.
- The Touch Bar
I can now see why there seems to be a lot of distain for this ‘feature’ that replaces the function key row on the MacBook Pro. I played around with settings to give me the Function row, I downloaded third party apps but all in all I really disliked having a little screen instead of physical keys.
I paid more than I wanted to really but thought that getting 16GB and 512GB SSD would be enough to future proof me but with my current financial situation where it is I cannot keep a machine that isn’t going to serve me the way I want it to.
I have come to the conclusion that an 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD MacBook Air would do the job just nicely and save me over £600.
