Using a habit tracker or a days since tracker?

I’m trying to build some better habits such as walking 5 days a week and aside from putting them in my to do app I’m finding using a habit tracker just isn’t sticking these days. I don’t know if it’s my current lack of employment or where my head is at but apps like streaks just aren’t working.

I’ve also in the past used apps like Day Count to keep track of days since I stopped or started doing something, which has worked better for me in the past but again not sticking right now.

Do you track anything like this? Do you keep it in your task manager or something else?
