Don’t buy an iPhone this year.
I really liked this post by Matt Birchler. Apple’s environmental pitch just doesn’t hang together and it sums up how I feel better than I could write it up.
I’m all for companies doing their best but this MagSafe charging just seems unauthentic and to me plays into the theory they did it purely to save costs and charge the customer on the backend. The brick and headphone won’t save Apple much money but the shipping costs will, think about a box half the size and how many more they can get onto cargo.
I’m sitting out an upgrade this year and based on these practices I’m glad I am. Or at least don’t buy into MagSafe and stick with your existing lightning cable to charge.
